I'm not quite sure if the Ombre style (which is achieved by graduating color from light to dark) is also considered color blocking? I decided to take a chance anyway and also enter my card in the CAS-ual Friday challenge, which is 'blocks of color'.
The stems are stitched with embroidery floss, individual strips of paper adhered together to create the ombre effect, shapes are die cut and popped up on dimensionals. Sentiment is stamped with Momento Ink.
Check out all the fab submissions at:
Paper - Stampin' Up
Embroidery Cotton - DMC
Dies - MFT
HB Stamp - Stampendous
Ink - Momento Tangelo
Rhinestones - SU, colored with Copic Markers
I was wondering about that too!
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should link my ombre chevrons too?
LOVE your take on the challenge Geri, such a happy card !
Very very clever! I think it counts - they're definitely blocks and not blended. Love that even the leaves are done in the same way. Love this!

ReplyDeleteAnother perfect creation, Geri. I need to get out the saurus and see if I can find other descriptors for the word "perfect" which is how I find all your creations!! The amount of work on this card is amazing and it should win Card of the Year! If I tried something like that it would be all smudged. Me, in awe!!
