CONGRATS!
A quick post to share the card that I made for my niece who recently passed her national USA and Canadian Medical Radiology Technology exams! She is one amazing young woman...kind, smart, caring, hard working, honest & reliable!
Take a close look at the gorgeous texture on the White Linen card stock by Ellen Hutson! The blue AC paper also has some nice texture as well. I added a few black rhinestones and wee punched black dots for a bit of contrast. The sentiment and the flourish were created by inlaying the colored elements into the negative space (Silhouette cut file).
I love the simplicity of this design. If I were to do this a second time round, I would select a font that has a bit more flair to compliment the pretty lines of the flourish.
I am linking this card to this weeks's Simon Says Anything Goes! challenge (as long as I can get the link-up process to work today!)
Happy crafting!
Congrats to your niece. That's a real accomplishment. This is a gorgeous card, and one she'll no doubt treasure forever. Love the blue and black, and all that lovely texture. Killer card my friend. Love it! Yaaayyy!!!!! Bev
ReplyDelete73 trick or treaters?!!! Well, that's 73 more than I got!! ha ha! They just never make their way into the back row of our town house complex for some reason, which is where we are! But that is A-OK - in fact I'm enjoying a mini Kit Kat bar (or three) right now!
ReplyDeleteYour sweet niece is going to adore this! Huge congrats to her from me too - what an accomplishment! The card is gorgeous! So much detail in the texture right down to the gems and the punched out black dots - perfect touch! Don't touch that font! It's fresh and fun, and paired with an elegant flourish - a perfect combo!
Good to see you pop up in my inbox, Geri, my friend! This is beautifully CASlicious! Your brilliant neice will love it! Congratulations to her! I adore turquoise and black and white and love the fine linen texture of the papers! We've had a lot of kids, too, tonight which is good so the candy doesn't end up on my hips like the first bag did!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your niece...so exciting! Wow...just love your card and it is simply amazing and I love that you used your Silhouette too. Beautiful card and those colors are amazing and the black bling adds to much class to an already elegant card.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous - very sophisticated and grown up! Those little pops of black really take it to the next level!
ReplyDeleteImpressive accomplishments by your niece, and your card is such a lovely acknowledgement of her success! Pretty, sophisticated - and the colours....swooon!! Hmmm...sounds like your niece is very much like her Aunt Geri: kind, smart, caring, hard working, honest & reliable!! Heart-warming card for a special young lady by a most proud, special Aunt! Hugs, c
ReplyDeleteI adore this colour palette, Geri ... it's so elegant and gorgeous ... the flourish is fabulous and the perfectly placed bling and dots make it pop beautifully! Two Geri-treats in one day, my friend ... wow! Congratulations to your niece on such an amazing accomplishment! Anita :)
