I'm thrilled that my card selected as the winner for Week #68! Thank you to the DT for your inspiration and continuing dedication to this fun craft!
A side view to show the popped up vase.
I decided it was time to get inky (as opposed to using my Silhouette). It does feel great creating a card 'from scratch'. This is my second entry for the current CAS-ology challenge.
I used a Sizzix stamp set that I masked, stamped and fussy cut. The vase is popped up with micro pop dots. The flowers (which remind me of dill) were spiffed up with red Stickles. I added a bit of shading at the base of the vase with a Copic marker (C1 Cool Grey).
I used the new Memento Luxe ink (Tuxedo Black). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the coverage! It stamps just as good (if not better) that Stazon with no messy clean up.
DH is off to the cabin with our son this weekend, so it is just me, the kitties and tons of craft time! If all goes well, I just might have another card (or two) posted by Sunday night.
Happy crafting!
Yay! So glad to see you getting some inky time!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE the clean sophistication of this design.
AWESOME!
Aaah, so good to have you back and filling us up with inky inspiration, Geri! This is a winner already ~ I love the sleek sophistication of your CAS make!! You have such a keen eye for design! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteKeep 'em coming because this is another fantastic card! Love the popped up vase on this! Really adds nice dimension and the little pops of red are perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us again this week at CASology! :)
OK, sharp intake of breath, Geri ... you have that rare talent of taking the simple and turning it into sophisticated, elegant and completely stunning! Every little detail is perfect ... the precise stamping, the slight elevation of the vase, the sparkley goodness that comes from spiffing those flowers ... awesome, my friend, winningly awesome! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteStriking, sophisticated and elegant! I'll echo the others...winner, winner. The pops of red: perfect x wonderful special touch. My, but it's great to have you back!! My husband has to travel, in the midst of "heavy snowfall warning,' to the big city today to facilitate a cycling course (I know...crazy!). I'm hoping that the decision to stay home prevails, however...Anyway, it's a day for staying inside, staying warm, and staying crafty!! Thanks for your note about the FSS. I am soooooo excited!! Hugs,

Love this - your black is even more effective because of all the white! And some red sparkle is always a good addition! Thanks so much for joining us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw this, it stopped me in my tracks. It's BEAUTIFUL, Geri! That black on white with the tiny hints of red sparkle - perfect in every way! I have been thinking of adding some of the Momento Luxe inks to my wish list - I have been loving what I have been seeing out there, and your card is the tipping point!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your "me" time - I have a little bit of that myself today, and the weather is "perfect" outside for staying inside! There might be a card in my future!
