PAPER CRAFTS 2013 GALLERY IDOL - ROUND TWO

... never in a million years would I have imagined that I would be typing a Round Two post for the 2013 Paper Crafts Gallery Idol  I'm nervous, excited, anxious, but mostly humbled to be a midst this group of talented and creative crafters!

"Defining Dad" took me in several different directions, but the memories of the love and support that my dad provided, won out over all. Simply put, he was the anchor in my life. Almost scares me to think what might have been without his gentle guidance and encouragement!

Nautical is such a cool trend right now. I love the ocean blue/green (yes in real life the color is aqua rather than light blue!) with the pop of red & navy.  The anchor is a free clip art image that I fussy cut (three layers), wrapped with a bit of baker's twine and embellished with a simple red heart and popped up with foam dimensionals. Unfortunately, the photo does not capture the lovely dimension either. The sentiment is computer generated.

To see the other amazing creations (and I mean A-Mazing!) just click on the link above.  Follow the links to vote for your favorite entry.

A big thank you to all my blogging buddies for your encouragement, well wishes, sincere support and enthusiasm that you have shared with me :)

Supplies:  SU - Night of Navy and Real Red; CTMH White; Aqua paper - my scrap bin ?

  4. Geri: you have 100% "defined Dad" with this card, because as soon as I saw it, I immediately thought of *my dad* - which moves to the purpose - the essence - of your card. Anchors: yes, yes and yes! Supportive, keeping us from going too far adrift, holding us close (but not too tighly - there's always some 'play' in the rope); strength...all these things and more come to mind when I think of my dad - because of your single, solid, evocative image. Impressed? Only 1,000 X 1,000! A handsome, striking card, that really does touch the heart. Eyes misting...
