Edited to add a big Thank You to Judy for the HM Honor for this challenge :)
I spent a bit of time in my craft room last night, trying to come up with a different angle for 'Tropical'.
Zip Lining 9,000,000 feet above the ground would have been really hard to put to paper! Although, a screaming streak across the paper would have 'captured the moment' quite adequately!
Next idea was surfing. I never did manage to stand up on the darn thing but got a good workout paddling around on the board all day!
Easy peasy, quick and easy with a Silhouette cut file (tweaked a bit) and a $1 stamp from Michaels! A coat of Wink of Stella gives the water droplets some nice shimmer in real life! The perfect b-day card for Danny's nephew who will soon turn 18. He's a sweet, polite, athletic kid. But most important, he's respectful. And that equals cool in my book!
If you don't have time to play along, then take a moment to check out the cool DT cards and the fabulous talent filled gallery!
Happy crafting!
Aloha!
Love love love the tiny splash in the blue against the bold orange! I also get a "Nemo" vibe from it! Perfect for an 18 year old! So glad to see you at CASology!
ReplyDeleteWinner, winner, chicken dinner!!!! LOVE this tropical card. It's perfect for the challenge, and perfect for a fine young man. And the orange surf board with the aqua water drops is just right. Great card, my friend. Soooooooooooooo good to talk to you!!! Miss you already. Bisous, bisous. Bev
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Bev's got it pegged! Winner on all counts: bright, fun and most definitely tropical! A card that Danny's *cool* nephew will absolutely adore! More feathers in your 'Awesome Aunty' cap, for sure! Zip-lining 1 inch above the ground would have me screaming, and surfing? That involves waves, deep water, and the possibility of shark-like things! Yeah...no! Call me 'wimpy'!
ReplyDeleteMega hugs coming your way!

ReplyDeleteYour card is sooooo cool, Geri!!! WOW, brilliant, my friend and for sure a winner!!! How cool that designer surfboard looks with the very fine black lines to have the orange pop even more!!! And the sentiment and the fun droplets of water are just so perfect!!! Love the black frame and all the white space!!! So perfect for a cool 18 year old - he will surely love it as much as I do!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy what's left of the weekend!!!
