ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!

Red text for a Valentine post - predictable but fun!

Just popping in to share a simple Valentine card that will make its way to our son....quite masculine, don't you think?  He is so NOT the 'mushy' type!  I'm sure he will like the treat $$$ tucked inside :)

I tried some new little tricks on my Silhouette which began with one single heart that was sized and manipulated and copied and duplicated and pasted....not sure if I could repeat the process if I wanted to!

The heart panel is popped up with foam dots which creates some nice shading in the cut out hearts.

I must take a wander around the challenges tomorrow....perhaps I will find a fit for this card :)

Edited to add:  Thanks to my dear friend Shirley from across the pond, who suggested the Love Letter challenge at Curtain Call and the Valentine's Day or Use Hearts challenge at Simply Create Too...both new to me challenges!

Hope you all have plans for a craft filled weekend....I know I do!

  2. Valentines for the sons are always hard. Remember my 'gunshot' valentine for Struan last year? This one is perfect!

  3. Perfect "manly" valentine! Your son will love this...but probably not as much as I do! LOL! The kraft base is just right on this card. And check out this week's "freebie" on the Silhouette website. Love this. Truly do! Gotta start the "running" now...have a great weekend, dear friend. Bev

  4. A most gorgeous..oops, handsome and striking..card, Geri, that your son will love - and what a sweet gesture to include a $$ treat! Perhaps some chocolates will come your way. Traditional red for Valentine's works for me, and lately, the red/cream/kraft combination is catching my eye, too. The single red heart...swoon! As for challenges..hmmm, perhaps The Pink Elephant. Or maybe, you can take that darling heart panel, squish it into a smaller panel (being totally clueless about Silhouettes, I don't know if this is an easy task) and re-create it for Cas(e) this Sketch. Whatever challenge, this is guaranteed a winner, winner! Indeed, it's already made my day brighter! Hugs to you, dear friend~ c

  5. There you go again making THE perfect CAS card! Okay, wait, what??!!! You started this with one heart and created this amazing die cut?!! Now I am even more impressed!!! LOVE that red heart - what a perfect way to finish this fabulous card! I suspect your son will love this card even more than the treat inside (although he *may* not admit to it ;) !!!).

  7. Ooh, love this non-gooey valentine's card, Geri! Have a look at Curtain Call (love letter) and simply Create Too (valentines or hearts). And there's still time for Simon Says Monday challenge Anything Goes if you're quick.

  8. Great " guy" card Geri! I know that my 22 yr old son would like a card like this and would also appreciate a little treat inside ;)
I really like the one little red heart against the neutral (and masculine) kraft card stock and the sentiment...well , such a classic Beatles tune!

  10. Deep-voice-manly, Geri ... and very cool and graphic! That's one amazing panel of hearts (or rather heart spaces!) ... love that you popped it up, it adds such depth and dimension and looks fab against the kraft base. One single red heart? Utterly perfect, my friend! Anita :)
