ATCAS #9 and Unscripted Sketch #203

Edited 2013-03-26
After a lovely visit with our daughter in Calgary, I am back home and ready to craft! Of course, my first task today was to visit all my crafty friends to see what they had created while I was away.

I came upon so many delightfully 'spring' cards submitted to the current Addicted to Clean and Simple challenge.  Blades of green grass, sweet bunnies and blooming flowers really have me wishing our snow away!

Yes, I know that this is posted early but I am out the door in about 5 minutes and won't have access to a computer for a few days, so here it is....two days early.

Fun sketch this week at Unscripted Sketches. Hope you find time to play along.

Are these Paper Smooches stamps not the absolute best?  Seriously, I have never had a stamp leave such a beautiful crisp, clear impression.  Absolutely the best in my books.  You will be seeing lots more from these puppies in the future.

Gotta run!  Happy crafting!

  3. Wait, where are you off to this time? Wait, wait .... Well, darn, we'll miss you, Geri. Love your card! And between you and Kim, I may have to break my promise not to buy any more new stamps until I've used ... are the flowers Paper Smooches, too? They looks so perfect, like they're computer-generated, so I'm dying to know what you used for your brilliant coloring? Hope you have a fun/productive/successful/relaxing trip!

  8. I hope I don't use up a lot of your space here but I just had to tell you the reaction I had when I saw this card. First, I gasped! Then I was transported back to when I was little and would visit my Maternal Grandma's home in Texas. You see, she was an artist and always entered her paintings each year in the Texas State Fair. One of them looked just like your card!!!!! Yes, the colors, the positioning of the flowers, etc. was exactly like this card! Whoa, that was such a wonderful memory for me so I "Thank You" for triggering it.

BTW, she always placed at the Fair and sold her paintings which helped her run her farm. She was widowed early in life and raised 5 children all by herself (losing one during WWII.) She also was a teacher and retired from her teaching only after the State made her do it at 80 years of age. She received her PhD in Education at the age of 75! She was quite a very special person.
