CAS(E) this Sketch #55

Well.....this could be a bit of a stretch with the sketch, but I figured I'd throw my card into the mix just for the fun of playing along with all the fabulously talented ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch !

Easy peasy, simple card...which will be perfect for my husband's nephew and his soon-to-be bride. They are the sweetest young couple ever, who love the simple things in life like camping, hiking, reading, relaxing . I'm quite sure they will love the simplicity of my design (and the wee $$$ that they will find inside!).

The inlaid sentiment is a Silhouette file cut from textured American Crafts card stock! A wee punched heart and done!

Had  I been on top of my crafting game this morning, I'm quite sure I would have reached for my White Linen paper (Ellen Hutson) for the card base which would have added even more yummy texture.  But I wasn't, so I didn't - dang it all anyway!

Happy crafting!

  1. Oh Yeah! Am lovin' this. So clean, so happy, so bright, so CAS! And it's really nice to see your blog pop up on my sidebar! I'm behind again on commenting, but will try to rectify that a bit more later...am in between cleaning jobs, taking a quick break. Great card, my friend. Love this. Bev

  3. I love the beautiful simplicity of your card, Geri! I also adore the swirl at the end of the S and of course I love the texture of the paper. In my book you can never have enough texture! And of course the sweet wee heart is the perfect finishing touch.

  5. Oh, but it's so perfect just the way it is! Love the elegance of that simple sentiment! I think I made a mistake in getting my Cricut. I got it before I was seeing all the beautiful things you and others have done with the Silhouette. Feeling a little jealous;), but that's not a good thing, so I'll move on!;) Beautiful, Geri!

  6. I'm casing this as thank you cards for teachers. This is so simply awesome and your colour choice is perfect for a couple who love the great outdoors! Love the plain, plain font with the little surprise swirl at the end. Thanks for your comment yesterday. The answer is that the first 80 die cuts are almost done, but it's been a LONG week. And I learned that there is a grain in paper and it impacts how well your die will cut. The hard way. lol!
