the Card Concept - Challenge #3 - Monochromatic Pink

Welcome back for challenge #3 - Use Monochromatic Pink. Can an inspiration photo get any prettier than this? We were thrilled to see 118 amazing cards posted for the second challenge! Let's see if we can beat that number this week!

I drew my inspiration from the beautiful peony blossoms!  I'm sure that I can smell their distinctive fragrance!  Notice how the petals 'nest' together in soft curving lines.

I used my Silhouette to create a curve that I liked. The 'swooshes' are three layers thick and create some nice dimension in real life. The sentiment (which took me a kazillion tries before I got the 'curve' to match) is also done with the Silhouette using Glitter Pens.

Perhaps this photo will be just what you need to inspire you to get busy on your Valentine Day cards.  Or perhaps it will take you in a completely different direction! We would love to have you share your talent with us at the card concept challenge :)

Happy crafting!

  6. Hee hee, I am so bad! I'm sitting here selfishly celebrating the fact that you are on the Design Team and I don't have to compete against you in the challenge!! I KNOW! I told you I was bad!! Because this card, Geri, this card is a winner no matter which way you look at it! I will be pinning and CASEing - well, trying anyway, since I don't have a Silhouette, but the whole design idea is brilliant and worth a try!! Thank you for the inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell

  14. Peonies. I love peonies; they're a close second to my all-time favourites (rarely seen around here: asters and snap-dragons). Your card is a perfect rendition of peony colours - and the 'swooshes' are fabulous! Winner card for inspiration; winner card for day-brightening! Totally LOVE this x a kazillion (and one!!)! Hugs~c
