A big thank you to Michele and the Girl Fridays for choosing my card this week!
CFC81: Create a Clean And Simple
project that features a knot or knots.
Knotty or nice? Well, I definitely chose 'knotty' with this card! In fact, there are over 150 hand stitched wee French Knots....actually there could be more but I got lost counting half way around the tree!
Stamped the tree (Penny Black 'Majestic') with Momento Tuxedo Black, stitched the french knots with DMC embroidery cotton, stamped the sentiment with SU Real Red (although it almost looks brown in the photo) and mounted on to Real Red card stock. Finished of the tree with a wee red rhinestone at the top.
The knots took about 3 hours to stitch. Other than that, this is probably the fastest I have completed in card EVER!!! I always fuss way too much :)
Why 'knot' pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog and check out all the amazing projects?
Happy crafting!
Hi Geri!
ReplyDeleteThe red and white are terrific together!
Well done with those knots, I haven't made one in ages, think I should try that again!
Have a great day!
Just too darn clever and looks simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteOkay, seriously, if this doesn't win. I mean, 150 hand-stitched knots? Me, bowing in awe! It's so beautiful, Geri!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunner, Geri! And I admire your patience!
ReplyDeleteFrench knots?! Are you kidding me? They're gorgeous! I remember my mother failing to teach me how to do those when I was a kid (or was it me failing to learn? lol!). Maybe I'll try again. Some day.

ReplyDeleteMy hubs is from Mani-tuba, too... ;)
Lovely! So elegant - great win!
ReplyDeleteExplain your knotting process. Did you go from knot to knot stretching your thread on the back. Or did you knot of each one ?
ReplyDeleteI can't see the thread come through the back ? How did you keep your cardstock from creasing.
Beautiful work
Deby
ummm this is gorgeous! No wonder it won! I have a feeling you'll be a DT member for the very challenge you won with this card someday soon...you're a perfect fit!
