Unscripted Sketches # 189 and Addicted to CAS #2

Another card doing double duty.

This is such a versatile sketch - the sky is the limit! Flip it clockwise, counter clockwise, upside down, right side up....get creative and show us what you've got! Click here to link up your creations to our latest sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches. Take a minute to enjoy the beautiful cards that the DT has posted.

It was so nice to see so many beautiful entries in US #188.  Hopefully, you will find time during this busy holiday season to sit down at your craft table and play along with this sketch.

Addicted To Clean and Simple is the new kid on the block.  A challenge blog for the clean and simple with a DT that will knock your socks off with their talent and inspiration.  Take a minute and check it out. Thanks to Ardyth and Hannelie for the info on this new challenge :)

I die cut the Sizzlits Large Paper Doily (SU)  in red, white and green.  I then cut the center portion of the green (Lucky Limeade) with my circle nestabilities to form the Christmas ball.  I popped out all the wee pieces and fit in the contrasting colors from the other two doilies that I had punched.  Time consuming, yes...but I love the end result.  Added the new mini bow from Lil Inkers, a bit of bling in the center, some baker's twine and a SU sentiment.

Inspired by Happy Dance

A few weeks back, I came across a card that Bev from Happy Dance had posted (see below). I absolutely fell in love with the layout that she used - perfect for either a baby boy or girl.  I immediately tucked in into my card file until such time as I needed to make a baby card.  Well that need arose today.

Bev is one talented and busy lady!  I really don't know how she finds the time to craft!  I'm sure that she would love it if you stopped by her blog to say hello and check out her fabulous creations.  Please take a moment to let her know that you dropped in to say hello :)

Here is Bev's sweet card - aren't these colors fabulous!

Details:  Clouds were die cut from some really old SU patterned paper and adhered to 2 layers of craft-a-board.  Hearts (SU Embosslit) were adhered to one layer of craft-a-board and attached to the clouds with Baker's Twine. Sentiment - SU.

CAS-ual Fridays - CFC81 - KNOTTY OR NICE

A big thank you to Michele and the Girl Fridays for choosing my card this week!

CFC81: Create a Clean And Simple project that features a knot or knots.

Knotty or nice?  Well, I definitely chose 'knotty' with this card! In fact, there are over 150 hand stitched wee French Knots....actually there could be more but I got lost counting half way around the tree!

Stamped the tree (Penny Black 'Majestic') with Momento Tuxedo Black, stitched the french knots with DMC embroidery cotton, stamped the sentiment with SU Real Red (although it almost looks brown in the photo) and mounted on to Real Red card stock. Finished of the tree with a wee red rhinestone at the top.

The knots took about 3 hours to stitch. Other than that, this is probably the fastest I have completed in card EVER!!! I always fuss way too much :)

Why 'knot' pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog and check out all the amazing projects?

Happy crafting!

colourQ Challenge #166 and CASology Week #22 Sparkle

A whole lot of sparkle and a whole lot of blue!

I have used three different shades of glitter that are quite close to the three lighter colors of the ColorQ challenge palette.  I used SU Night of Navy for the darkest shade of the palette. The sentiment (love this one) is also SU.  Martha Stewart  "Sparkle" speaks for itself.

It is almost impossible to keep from personally getting involved with the sparkles.  There is glitter everywhere! My face, hands and craft room floor are just as sparkly as the card :)

There is still time to play along with both challenges...so get busy and get your sparkle on!

Unscripted Sketches #188 and CASology: Week #22: SPARKLE

Another fun cue word this week at CASology and a sweet new sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  Stop by and check out the 'sparkle' that the Casology DT have created and the fabulous creations of the rest of the Unscripted DT.

Photographing sparkle/glitter is hard!  Simple as that!  I'm guessing that the reflection of the glitter messes up the sensor in the camera. SU red and silver glitter paper were used for the dots and the inside of the bows (although the red looks more like a burgundy/brown color). Much prettier in real life :)

The presents are cut out and popped up on dimensionals. The bows are half of a flower punch, sentiment is SU, the stamp is another $1.50 snag this past week at Michaels. SU Cherry Cobbler, Black and CTMH white card stock.

Are you  ready to play along?  Just click to link either or both of the links above.

Happy crafting :)

The Classroom - 12 Tags of Christmas With a Feminine Twist Challenge

I hope that you have been following the amazing tag tutorials over in The Classroom. If not, check it out now! Ellen has lined up 12 of THE most talented ladies who are each sharing a fun, easy to follow tutorial showing us how we can create some pretty amazing tags!

My tag was inspired by this sweet tag made by Teri Anderson (Day 6). How about those buttons?

Eh_joytag_teri

Get busy creating because one lucky participant will win a $150 store credit! Yes, you read this right....$150 smackeroos to spend at Ellen Hutson, LLC.

And there's more!  Remember to leave a comment every day sharing your appreciation with the artists and gain an opportunity for some fun blog candy!

I created my tag using only a portion of the SU Adorning Accents Edgelits die. The stars are buttons dipped in glue and rolled in Recollections Tinsel Embossing Powder and left to dry (did not heat).  The trees are stitched directly on the card stock.  The sentiment is stamped on twill tape. Eyelet opening made with a 1/2" circle punch.

CASology - TIME - Week #21

This had me stumped for a bit.  I wanted something original, especially after seeing all the amazing and creative submissions from the DT and the other challengers.  Check it out here.

Simple circles and printed numbers cut out and colored with Copic Y17. Some numbers were popped up using those sweet, teenie weenie pop dots.  Double punched the wee circle in the middle, which is probably the hardest thing on this whole card! Popped up the 'clock' with dimenstionals, and added a computer generated sentiment.

Happy crafting!
